And the winner is... Dennis Carpenter!


It is with great pleasure that Music Alive 2021 announces Dennis Carpenter to be the well-deserved winner of this year's Character Community's Wayne Hill Memorial Director of Excellence Award. Mr. Carpenter is an individual who displays true leadership and advocates for good character in all aspects of his life. In particular, Mr. Carpenter's dedication to the Music Alive Program over the years and to music education in York Region in general is truly inspiring! Mr. Carpenter considers it a tremendous honour to have been able to collaborate closely with Wayne Hill on this amazing music festival in the past. Bravo!

Music Alive Virtual Education Edition, 2021


Music Alive 2021, one of the largest music festivals in the country, is preparing an innovative program for this coming year. New program session modules, some new adjudicators and guest artists, and new opportunities for the students to participate in a dynamic virtual learning session. 

More information and details will be shared about the learning modules and the expertise of the amazing guest artists who will be invited to lead each session.  Registration for this edition will be open in early December, 2020.

The Virtual Education Edition opens on Monday, January 18, 2021, and closes on Friday, May 7, 2021. 

Virtual Sessions with Guest Artists will be arranged, Monday to Friday, during regular hours of operation, of a typical school day, and not on any weekends.
